Comprehensive support tailored to your child's unique needs
A small, supportive learning pod for 6–8 students. Perfect for families who want to homeschool but work full time, or homeschool families who want the support of an experienced certified ESE teacher. Students receive structure, individualized attention, academic support, and a calm learning environment.
Individualized tutoring for students who need extra support a few hours per week. This service is available for homeschooled students and students enrolled in traditional schools who need help strengthening academic skills, confidence, routines, and learning strategies.

Founder & Lead Educator
Terri Carter is the founder of Autism Tutor and a dedicated educator with extensive experience in special education. She holds a certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and has spent years working directly with children on the autism spectrum and with related learning differences.
Terri believes that every child deserves an education that meets them where they are. Her approach combines evidence-based instructional strategies with genuine warmth and patience, creating learning environments where children feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
Through Autism Tutor, Terri has built a practice centered on individualized support—meeting each child's unique needs while partnering closely with families to ensure consistent, meaningful progress at home and in the classroom.
She is passionate about helping families navigate educational options, build effective routines, and advocate for their children's success at every stage of development.
Educator & Family Support Specialist
Esmeralda Menchaca is a compassionate educator and family support specialist who brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work at Autism Tutor.
As a single mother who is raising a child on the autism spectrum, Esmeralda understands firsthand the challenges, victories, advocacy, patience, and dedication required to help a child thrive. This lived experience gives her a deep level of empathy and practical insight when supporting families navigating similar journeys.
With a background in education and a strong commitment to inclusive learning, Esmeralda specializes in creating structured, supportive environments where children with autism and learning differences can thrive. She works closely with students to build academic confidence, strengthen communication, and develop independence.
She also partners with parents to help create routines, support learning at home, and make informed educational decisions. Her family-centered approach helps progress continue beyond tutoring sessions and into everyday life.
She is deeply committed to honoring each child's individuality and celebrating every milestone along the way.
